EcoVadis platinum medal

Oleon has a strong commitment to meet our responsibilities towards customers and stakeholders, by doing business in a sustainable way.

In order to showcase the efforts that we have made, Oleon partakes in third party sustainability assessments organized by EcoVadis. EcoVadis is a leading sustainability rating platform focusing on topics such as the environment, labor & human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

Our first milestone - Gold medal in 2017

Since 2013, Oleon is being assessed by EcoVadis. Thanks to our continuous efforts, Oleon has been able to improve its score year after year. In 2017, Oleon was rewarded with its first Gold medal, highlighting our performance on sustainability.

Oleon was able to achieve this great result by installing co-generation plants at several production sites, lowering our energy consumption globally and by assessing our own suppliers on sustainability topics. Additionally, Oleon created a Supplier Code of Conduct and a Code of Ethics.

Elevating our sustainability performance to the highest level - Platinum medal in 2020

As of 2020, EcoVadis introduced a new medal for companies scoring in the top 1% of their industry. Not only did Oleon’s score improve again in 2020, we were also awarded with this new medal, showcasing Oleon’s leadership and commitment towards sustainability.

Oleon was granted this new medal due to the integration of sustainability procurement objectives into our buyers’ targets and by providing support to our own suppliers who are struggling with sustainability. We are very happy with this score and will continue to strive for the most sustainable approach.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR)

Corporate Social Responsibility is a widely used term in business worldwide.

CSR forces a company to look beyond profit, but also to pay attention to the social consequences of its activities. A CSR strategy should therefore not be reactive, but proactive. This means that a company should not simply react to problems that come its way and change things when asked, but that a company should find out for itself what, for example, the consumer wants. In this way, a company can draw up a plan to keep everyone happy, make a profit and protect the environment at the same time.
