In a previous blogpost, we spoke about all the benefits of Caprylic/capric triglyceride. With its stability to create stable formulations and its broad use in different applications, MCT is widely used by many cosmetic manufacturers. But how to formulate with this emollient and is it really an easy to handle product? Let’s take some closer look to a couple of trendy and inspiring formulations.
The beard oil formulation is a yellowish oil with dry afterfeel. This beard oil helps to grow and groom men’s beard. You need to apply it after cleansing and it will help to make your facial hair more supple and easier to style.
It is a very simple formulation with a short INCI list and a high naturality index. The ingredients in the formula are a combination of light and nourishing emollients, marula oil, perfume and tocopherol. The latter, also known as Vitamin E, can strengthen the skin barrier, and is also popular as a treatment for minimizing the appearance of striae and scars. Radia 7104 (Caprylic/capric triglyceride) is used at a concentration of 5% and helps to keep your beard hydrated and good looking.
Tea tree lip balm
Suffering from dry, chapped lips? This formulation is ideal, especially during these cold winter days. Using a lip balm will ensure hydrated and soft lips. They will heal faster and turn plump and moisturized with a sweep of balm. The Tea-tree lip balm is a typical balm formulation where waxes and viscosity enhancers will bring consistency. Adding some heavier emollients with protective properties will help to prevent the lips to dry out. Radia 7104 (Caprylic/capric triglyceride) as a light emollient is added at 8% and helps to spread the balm easier on the lips.
Blue clay mask
Treat yourself by using a clay mask once or twice a week. It is not only relaxing and enjoyable, but it will also make your skin deeply cleansed and softened. Clay has the ability to draw dirt, oils and toxins out of the skin. The Blue clay mask formulation is a Water-in-Oil formulation with Jolee 7887 (Polyglyceryl-3 polyricinoleate (and) Sorbitan isostearate) as emulsifier. This mask has a soft afterfeel by adding some light emollient such as Radia 7104 (Caprylic/capric triglyceride) and Jolee 7750 (Isoamyl laurate). Radia 7104 is added at 5% and has a the non-occlusive and hydrating effect.
